When setting up a Survey in Darzin, once you complete the Survey Details the next step is to Build Survey:

To select a question format you can either drag and drop it into the main page area or, double click on the question type.
For each of the question formats there is the option to add a Section Heading (can be useful for grouping questions), define the Question, add a Description (if required) and determine if the question is compulsory or not. 

The question formats include:

TextBox: This question type includes a toolbar to enable you to format text and include hyperlinks if required. This question type is best used for detailed responses which can be classified.
For example: Are there any aspects of the proposal that concern you?

Radio: This question type is best used for responses which require the user to select a single item from a predefined list of options.
For example: Do you own a Pet? Yes / No

Checkboxes: This question type is best used for responses which can include multiple answers.
For example: Which areas of the park do you visit? Gardens/BBQ Facilities/Dog Walking Area/Children's Playground - allowing the respondent to select more than one which applies.

Checkboxes and Text Box: This question type is best used for responses which can include multiple answers together with the option for 'Other' included, if selected the respondent can type in their own reason/response.
For example: Which areas of the park do you visit? Gardens/BBQ Facilities/Dog Walking Area/Children's Playground/Other - allowing the respondent to select more than one which applies and, to provide own option in the 'Other' text box i.e. Cycle Paths

Radio and Text Box: This question type is best used for responses which require the user to select a single item from a predefined list of options, together with the option for 'Other' included, if selected the respondent can type in their own reason/response.
For example: Do you own a Pet? Dog / Cat /Other - respondent can then enter their type of pet in the text field.

DropDown List: This question type is best used for responses which require the respondent to select a single choice from a dropdown list.
For example: What is your preferred flavor of Ice Cream? Vanilla/Strawberry/Chocolate/Caramel/Mint Choc/Choc Chip/Pistachio/Hazelnut - respondent can only choose one from the list.

Question Table: This question type is best used for responses which require the respondent to rate options/questions.
For example: What is your opinion on the follow areas of the park? The facilities are listed on the left and the respondent uses the checkbox options to indicate their opinion:


Ranking: This question type is best used for responses which require the respondent to organize (drag and drop) a list of items/statements into their preferred order.
For example: What is your preferred dessert?: Crème Brulee, Ice Cream, Pecan Pie, Apple Pie, Cheesecake, Gateau.

Date Time: This question type is best used for responses which require the respondent to record the date for example: for an event or attendance.

Please note: 'Skip Logic Controls' will only be displayed if the checkbox 'Include skip logic for questions' has been selected on the Survey Settings/Details tab.

As you build the survey you can use the 'Preview' button on the top right hand menu to be able to review how it looks.

Once you have completed building the survey, use the 'Make Survey Active' button to be able to publish the survey.
